A map of Africa from 1858. The map has a small insert on the bottom left corner of Liberia, one of the very few African countries not colonized by a European country, and subsequently established a unique relationship with the Unites States. In the top right hand corner there is an insert of Nubia, a region along the Nile river, which is located in northern Sudan and southern Egypt.
